Excited for the July Celebrations?

Every entrepreneur needs to make time to celebrate special occasions with family and friends. Many people choose family or religious holidays to have a bit of downtime in the company of their loved ones. With celebrations close at hand, we thought we’d give you a taste of a few celebration dishes from around the world. July marks celebrations surrounding faith and independence. It’s a perfect time for reflection, relaxation, and gratitude.

Many traditions, festivals, and celebrations fall towards the beginning of the month, like with the Yoruba of Nigeria. Id el Kabir is a time for one to sacrifice and remain obedient; many festivals and public celebrations are on the 10th of July. The independence of many countries is observed during July as well; for example, Hong Kong SAR (the 1st of July), Venezuela (July 7-5), Argentina (the 9th of July), Columbia (the 20th of July), and finally, the Sandinista Revolution Day (the 19th of July; Nicaragua).

Once we gained an affiliate relationship with Quicklly, we thought it would be a great time to focus on another religious holiday celebrated over two days on the Gregorian calendar; and the dishes that remain a staple when gathering for it.

Eid al-Adha, or the “Feast of Sacrifice,” is one of the most important holidays recognized in Islam. The period highlights Prophet Ibrahim’s (aka Abraham in Christianity and Judaism) willing sacrifice of his son Ismail, as ordered by Allah.
