Constant Contact and Ascend by Wix Provide Marketing Solutions for Growing Brands

If you’re over 40 years old, you might remember the direct mail promotions landing in your mailbox daily. Depending on your demographics, you might have up to five promotion flyers from different brands, all vying to advertise their sales or products to you via USPS. But now we are all watching our carbon footprint. We’ve moved on to a greener way of promoting our brands; Digital / Email Marketing.
Although email marketing isn’t necessarily new, there’s been a shift in how designers of these platforms create them. They’ve brilliantly invented ways for non-marketers to use the marketing platforms with little to no help from anyone.

Not long ago, users of digital marketing platforms were nearly required to have a mid-level understanding of marketing.
Now, giants like Constant Contact and Ascend by Wix provide marketing solutions to the average small business owner and entrepreneur that helps them keep in touch with their lists of supporters.

In this post, we want to compare these two platforms to showcase how they stack up and hopefully aid your decision on which platform can best help you collect leads and turn them into customers and prospects.

ASCEND BY WIX

PROS

  • Ascend is an excellent option for entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, and small business owners, allowing them to connect easily with their customers and supporters.
  • Options include site promotions, customer engagement, pro marketing campaigns, and leads capturing.
  • Allows real-time customer/client interactions and the ability to set up autoresponders.
  • They provide top-tier customer support. If you’re stuck on any aspect of the platform, they’re usually there to help.
  • App integration is a snap, and the platform offers a wide array of SEO tools.

CONS

  • You must have a Wix account to access Ascend as your subscription add-on. The problem is that users who already have their site hosted elsewhere would need to migrate to Wix.
  • In comparison to other hosts, Wix can be on the pricier side. That’s attributed to the variety of offerings Wix has in its marketplace.
  • The contract for your Wix subscription auto-renews, and that can be inconvenient. But note that paying for Ascend as an add-on could eliminate the budget problem if you set a calendar reminder.

CONSTANT CONTACT

PROS

  • Dependable delivery.
  • Integrates with social media accounts for features like live events.
  • Offers user-friendly drag-and-drop functionalities.
  • When you join the Constant Contact community, you can count on a forum of support.

CONS

  • Customer service is sub-par, and the sales team is far too aggressive.
  • Constant Contact can be a bit costly for marketers with limited budgets as a stand-alone product.
  • Constant contact lacks simple options like segmentation.
  • Offers limited customization of automation and templates.
