What's up, Boss Squad?!

October usually evokes images of pumpkins, cornucopias, and light-hearted spookiness in our collective consciousness. We don't think about how valuable this time can be regarding reflecting on our products, services, and overall brand. This is the month that begins the final quarter of the total year. It's a great time to organize sales events, and prepare your supporters and customers for your brand's new year plans.

This issue, we want to help you access some resources you might not be aware of and introduce you to a few products that will make your life just a little bit easier.
Effective Business Plan

Plan Your Harvesting Strategy and Define How It Relates to Your Small Business

When you sit down to write your business plan, it should contain well-thought-out elements that can get your business or brand off to a great start. It should include your executive summary, business description, marketing strategy, your goals for operations, and much more.

When you plan your harvest strategy, it focuses on all of these aspects, as well as how you’ll leave your business or brand when you’re ready to retire away from it.

Regarding harvesting strategy, Wiley Online Library defines it as “Harvesting (or exiting) is the method owners and investors use to get out of a business and, ideally, reap the value of their investment in the firm.”

Build Healthy Habits
Although your To-Do list may be long, don’t forget that your body needs the right foods for optimal performance. Avoid processed foods and choose healthy options instead.

Take it Easy
Work smart by giving your body self-care as needed. Try to take a break that doesn’t involve checking your email or social media. Don’t be afraid to put down your phone or step away from your laptop for 20 minutes and move around.

Avoid #Team No Sleep like the Plague
Those who don’t sleep are slow to think. It’s okay to take a couple of days off for household tasks and downtime. Think of your business journey as a marathon, not a sprint. Do your best each day, and pace yourself.

Stay Connected
If we’re honest, this journey can be isolating, and if you’re not careful, it can also lead to mental health challenges. You can fight this problem with virtual check-ins with colleagues and support teams. Don’t neglect your human need for connections for the sake of productivity.

Connect with a mentor
Do not be afraid to find a mentor to help you grow and develop your skills and ideas. There are leaders in your industry who would be happy to share what they’ve learned on their journey to success.  Find a mentor and set clear goals for you both.

The Benefits of Ginger

Originating from Southeast Asia, ginger belongs to the Zingiberaceae family and is closely related to cardamom, turmeric, and the tropical rhizomatous spice, galangal. It is a flowering plant that originated in Southeast Asia.
Oxford's definition:
rhi·zome * /ˈrīˌzōm/ * noun
a continuously growing horizontal underground stem that puts out lateral shoots and adventitious roots at intervals.

The rhizome is the part most people use. It can be fresh, dried, and powdered, in oil form, or as a juice. Its uses range from foods to cosmetics.
Scientific research supports the findings of the health benefits of ginger and points to its main bioactive compound, gingerol, as the root of ginger's powerful medicinal properties.
The list of remedies ginger provides is pretty expansive, but the most simple uses are to fight colds and flu, aid digestion, and have anti-inflammatory effects.
A 2011 study found that topically using ginger, cinnamon, sesame oil, and mastic (resin from the gum mastic tree) can help reduce the pain and stiffness associated with osteoarthritis.
Menstrual cramps are a monthly dilemma for some. Luckily, ginger is a powerful antidote for dysmenorrhea. It's a much safer option for your stomach and effortlessly takes the place of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Ginger helps stop nausea in its tracks. The root is known to be safe and effective for morning sickness, chemotherapy-related nausea, and surgery-induced nauseousness. Click below to continue reading about how ginger can benefit you in your daily life.
